After parking the car at a nearby parking space, Lan Zhan entered the cafe and ordered a cup of tea while he waited for his omega. 

He's worried yet he doesn't want to spoil his boyfriend's courage for facing his uncle despite all the threats that were thrown at him. All he can do is hope that his omega is doing fine as of this moment. 

Upon receiving his cup of tea, he sips and decided to wait patiently. Right, there's no need to worry, his omega is strong.

Wei Ying went directly to the cafe across the Lan's building his secretary in tow. 

"That was a bit tiring!" The omega complains upon slumping down to the seat across his alpha, pinching the bridge of his nose as he closes his eyes. But before he forgets he looks at his secretary who is awkwardly standing behind him. He sighs, a sweet smile leaving his lips, "Do you have somewhere to go? Or do you want to stay with us?" he suddenly asked, voice oh so sweet as if he just didn't made Lan Qiren-- a dominant alpha and a president of a company speechless. 

The secretary just bows politely, hiding his amusement over the omega, "I don't want to ruin your date, sir. I'll be at the office, you can call me and I'll come right away," he politely declined. 

Wei Ying grins, "Hm, then before you go, order me some caramel macchiato," he ordered, "and also, buy one for yourself," he grins. 

"But sir-" he was about to protest but Wei Ying was quick to stop him.

"That's an order, just do it!" he winks and handed him his card. 

The secretary obliged nonetheless, marching his way to the cashier. After which, he brought his boss's order to their table and bowed politely at Wei Ying before excusing himself. 

Now Wei Ying and Lan Zhan were left alone at their table.

"How's the meeting?" Lan Zhan finally asked, watching his omega with fondness. 

Wei Ying took a sip, when the warmth of the drink passed his throat, a satisfied sigh left his lips, "It was okay!" he beams at his alpha, giggling at the process. 

The alpha smiles, nodding as the weight in his chest a while ago vanished and was replaced with relief, knowing his omega didn't experience something traumatizing.

"He didn't say anything to you?" Lan Zhan asked, tilting his head as he observes his omega's reaction. 

Wei Ying only shrugs, "Nah, we talk about business. Since we'll be business partners from now on, I think we need to get along well," he beams before taking another sip. 

Lan Zhan nods, satisfied at what his omega said, "That's good," he answers, taking a final sip of his tea.

"Bub, you should eat. Our baby needs a lot of milk when he gets out of the egg, so in the meantime, I need to fatten you up," Xichen utters upon entering their room with a tray full of delicious food that is surely Jiang Cheng's favorites. 

The recessive omega turns his head at him, from his loving stare on their egg to glaring daggers at his mate. 

"Hmp!" he sulks, pouting with sharp glares pointed at the alpha but his face turns soft upon trailing an eye at the tray that his alpha was holding. The foods he was not able to consume while he was pregnant are on the platter, and now that he regained his appetite, he's already craving for them.

Xichen grins, seeing the immediate change in his mate's facial expression is amusing. And so he used the opportunity to approach the bed and put them down beside him.

If he didn't know better, he wouldn't have noticed the drool on his omega's face as he stare at the food as if he were gobbling them all up mentally. 

"Now, give me our baby so you can eat, hm?" he coos, gently snatching the egg from his omega's hold while Wanyin focuses on the food that was laid beside him. 

After successfully snatching their egg, he laid the egg down in its crib, gentle as possible to not aggravate any of his mate's maternal instincts. Then he carefully sat beside the tray, grinning wide at his omega's hungry staring. 

"You can start digging in, baby," Xichen coos, leaning to plant a kiss on his omega's temple. 

The omega looks up at him, his eagerness turning into soft purrs as he succumbs to his alpha's kisses. "You'll eat with me?" he asked softly.

The alpha only shakes his head, "Nah, that's all for my bub. You can eat all of it, baby," he coos, smiling lovingly at his omega. 

"But are you not hungry?" he asked, slightly tilting his head. 

The alpha finds it quite adorable. He chortles, "mn- not hungry," he answers, "Hungry for something else tho," he shrugs, a naughty smirk creeping on his face. 

The omega's face immediately flush red, realizing what he meant. Though, he understands that they have not done anything naughty because of his pregnancy and now because of his fixation on taking care of their baby. The first was when he got his first heat and nothing follows, though they did some foreplay but nothing beyond that. Still, he swats the alpha's hand away and glared at him. 

"Stop! I'm gonna eat if you don't want to!" he glares, snatching the tray and setting them on his lap. 

The alpha chuckles, "I'm just kidding. Eat them all, yeah? I'll just go outside, just call me if you need anything," he declares, leaving a final peck on his forehead before stooping down the bed. 

Wanyin only rolled his eyes at him, "Yeah, whatever," he replies before staring back at his food, eyes twinkling in delight at each of them. Strangely enough, the plates, bowls, and mugs were all made of glass, but that's not something Cheng cares for. The food is too delicious to even care about it.

It took Xichen twenty minutes standing outside of their bedroom when he heard the omega screaming his name from inside. 

He smiles as he barges in, fixating his eyes on the teary-eyed omega. 

Jiang Cheng had been expecting to be married to his mate, it's nothing surprising about that anymore. But being proposed in an unexpected way and time is new to him. He doesn't expect any proposal. Because in the first place, their wedding is already ready to be thrown anytime they wanted it to. 

But still, he feels overwhelmingly happy. Though he knew his way of proposing is nothing unique and nothing special and was just a simple one, he still feels his heart pounding rapidly in his chest as if it'll come out any time. His eyes cannot help but tear up in too much happiness. 

His mate, the father of their baby, and his future is in front of him, kneeling at one knee while opening a box with a simple yet gorgeous ring inside it. The glass plates that are now empty are proclaiming the alpha's intentions, engraved on them beautifully.

"Will you marry me?" 

Wanyin's lips wobbled as he stares down at his alpha's sincere eyes, his hands trembling. He's too happy that he doesn't know what to do or react. But his tears were the ones that shed his unsaid emotions. Happy tears trail down his cheeks as he hands his empty left hand on his mate-- his alpha. 

"I know this is cliche," the alpha chuckles at himself, "...and we'll still get married even if I don't do this..." he paused, inhaling and exhaling as he gathers his heart into words, "...Still, I want everything best for you," he continues, "... though I want this to be special and unforgettable. I wanted to do this in a beautiful place but we can't get out in the meantime. So, I hope you still like it even if it's only a simple meal that I was able to prepare," he smiles sheepishly. 

Wanyin pouts behind his tear-filled face, "Why are you like this?" he sobs, "First, you unexpectedly annoys me every day, then you unexpectedly turned me into an omega, and then unexpectedly mate with me and then gets me pregnant, and now you're doing this unexpectedly even though we'll still get married even without this!" he grumbles, sniffling and sobbing. His heart is filled with bliss that he can't even voice out. 

"I'm sorry," the alpha lowers his head, guilt hitting him. Right, he did all that, does the omega regrets everything already?

The omega clicked his tongue as he harshly garbs his alpha's cheeks, forcing him to look at him directly. "Why are you saying sorry?!" he irritatingly uttered, "Did I say I hated what happened to me?!" he gritted his teeth, his pheromone getting sour.

The alpha can do nothing but stare at his omega wide-eyed, a little surprised at the frustrated tone coming from the omega with a whiff of his distressed pheromone. 

"I-I-" his voice cracked, "I did not regret everything that happened, rather I'm so happy that I can't express them well..." he hiccups, "...I love you..." he mumbles, almost unheard but thankfully on the alpha's wolf hearing, he heard them well. 

"...I love you too," he answers as he settles the box from his hands on the floor and gently cups the omega's cheeks, he wipes off his tears with his thumb, "...I love you, I'm sorry..." he coos pressing their forehead together, completely forgetting the box of ring on the floor.

"Why are you apologizing again?" the omega pouts, still sobbing a little, now a little calmer as he closes his eyes to the alpha's tenderness.

The alpha leans, now pressing the tip of his nose at his omega's, "I made you cry," he confesses. 

Wanyin sniffles, "It's because you're jumping to conclusions without hearing me out!" he grumbles.

Xichen nods softly, "Yes. I'm sorry, baby. hm?" he coos while he rubs his cheeks gently. 

"Hmp!" he sulks, "Then I want my ring as compensation!" he pouts. 

Xichen chuckles, one hand letting go of his other cheek and grabbing the box from the floor. "Then I want to ask you again," he paused, his eyes meeting with his mate's.

"Will you marry me?" he asked, full of love in his eyes.

The omega grins wide, heart pounding harshly on his chest. And so he lunges onto his alpha's arms, shouting a confident "YES!" not even bothered if it'll resonate in the whole mansion. 

Xichen catches him, embracing him in his arms. Finally! He's been imagining a scenario of him proposing to Jiang Cheng since the day he fell in love with him and it's finally happening. He sighs in satisfaction, indulging himself in the warmth they are sharing.
